Craig Hospital Working On Another Rehabilitation Innovation
DENVER (CBS4) - Redefining what's possible -- that's what they do at Craig Hospital every day, and now they're working on another rehabilitation innovation.
On Monday crews hoisted a car up to the fourth floor of a new building on the Craig campus.
Craig Hospital is among the best in the world at helping victims of spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries readjust to life after their accidents. The car will be used to train patients how to get in and out of a vehicle.
"This car will help our patients relearn how to get back in a car, relearn how to negotiate a car, all the switches, all the buzzers, all the bells," Craig Hospital spokesman Chris Chappell said.
Dealing Doug Autos donated the car.
The new transfer lab will also have airline seats, a bathroom and other things patients use in day-to-day living.
