Lakewood Police Search For Assault Suspect

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Lakewood have released a sketch they hope will lead to the arrest of a man who assaulted a teenager in a park.

The 14-year-old girl told police that on Sept. 23 about 4:30 p.m. she was walking in Cottonwood Park near S. Kipling Pkwy. and W. Jewell Ave. when a man approached her.

He asked if she would like to have a good time. When she responded, "No," the man grabbed her arm and struck her in the face with his fist.

The victim was able to get away and run. She told police she had never seen the man.

The man police are searching for is described as in his early 20s with short dark hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, baggy blue jeans and white shoes. He has a piercing through his left eyebrow that was a rod with a small ball on each end.

Anyone who may have information about the case or the suspect's identity is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department at 303-987-7111.
