CDC: 4 In Colorado Sick From Salmonella In Chicken
DENVER (CBS4) - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says four people in Colorado have gotten sick from salmonella in chicken.
The chicken comes from three plants in California and is sold under the Foster Farms brand.
Nearly 300 people in seven states have gotten sick.
Federal officials remind people to cook chicken thoroughly.
A recall has not been issued. The USDA's food safety service along with the CDC are monitoring the outbreak with reduced staffing because of the government shutdown.
