Gun Accident Wounds 2 People With 1 Shot In Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado Springs police say two people were injured when a gun accidently fired, hitting one man in the hand and another in the arm.

Police say the two men suffered non-life threatening injuries on Tuesday.

Authorities say Joseph Gunderson was handling a newly purchased, loaded 9mm handgun when it went off, striking him in the hand. The bullet went through his hand and struck his roommate, who was standing nearby, in the arm and side. The roommate was not identified.

Police say Gunderson is facing charges of prohibited use of a weapon.
