ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - A recreational cyclist who died after a bicycle crash in the Aspen area has been identified as a 74-year-old man from New Orleans.

The Pitkin County coroner says Henry "Hank" Vosbein died after the crash on Sunday.

The sheriff's department says Vosbein was wearing a helmet.

Deputies say was descending Maroon Creek Road after riding his bike to the Maroon Bells area with friends and family.

Sheriff's deputy George Kremer tells the Aspen Daily News Vosbein went off the road onto a pull-off covered with loose rock and lost control. Kremer says the cyclist was thrown forward into a meadow about 4 feet below.
