Resolution For Family Evicted After Mother Killed

DENVER (AP) — The Denver Housing Authority has found a way to keep a family from being evicted from subsidized housing after a mother was killed by a rampaging gunman.

The housing authority says it was forced to lock out 70-year-old Doris Kessler and the mother's autistic son under federal law because Sandra Roskilly was the head of the household in subsidized housing and Kessler wasn't allowed to be on the lease because she lived there as a live-in aide.

The housing authority said Tuesday a representative for Roskilly's estate has been appointed and the relatives will be allowed to return home.
