$100M Project Gets Underway In Cherry Creek North

DENVER (CBS4) - Construction is now underway to build a $100 million project in Cherry Creek North.

The 250 Columbine building will feature offices, stores and 70 condominiums. It will also have two levels of underground parking.

While Denver Mayor Michael Hancock says it's a great opportunity for Cherry Creek North, he notes it is a little bittersweet to see the old building go.

"This Village Inn was where high school students got to know high school students from other schools because we could all come here after high school dances and we would grab those pancakes to kind of soak up the water we were drinking at the parties," Hancock said.

The office and retail areas of the building are expected to open by the end of next year with the condos ready early in 2015.
