Climber Dies At Rocky Mountain National Park

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) — Rocky Mountain National Park officials say a climber with New Jersey ties has died after falling about 30 feet at the park in northern Colorado.

Park officials say a caller told rangers around 12:30 p.m. Thursday that a 22-year-old man had fallen 30 feet while climbing Batman Pinnacle on Lumpy Ridge. People on scene started CPR, but he didn't recover.

Severe thunderstorms kept rangers from recovering his body Thursday night. They planned to stay at the scene overnight and resume recovery efforts Friday, weather permitting.

Park officials say the man was from New Jersey but was living in Fort Collins, Colo. His name wasn't immediately released.
