Greeley Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Women's Underwear

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- A man who is suspected of stealing women's underwear from an apartment complex laundry room has been arrested.

Joey Eugene Gallegos was arrested on Aug. 1 for the thefts the occurred in the 1800 block of 30th Street.

Police said Gallegos, 39, was linked to two separate burglaries in the same apartment complex. He's being held at the Weld County Jail and faces burglary and theft charges.

Police said they received reports from two separate victims that their clothing had been stolen from that apartment complex.

Gallegos was identified as a suspect and arrested. That's when police said he turned over the stolen items to officers.

Officers searched Gallegos' residence near the apartment complex at 1700 block of 30th Street and recovered more than 350 items of women's clothing, most of them undergarments.

All of them are believed to have been stolen from other women who have not yet realized they are missing or haven't reported the thefts.

Believing there to be numerous victims in this case, the Greeley Police Department asks that anyone who believes they are missing items to contact Detective Matt Walsh at 970-350-9549.
