Denver Zoo Welcomes Newborn Zebra
DENVER (CBS4) - There are some new stripes wandering around the Denver Zoo.
On Monday 16-year-old Crestone, a Grevy's zebra, gave birth to a new baby. The zoo has not yet checked to see if it's a male or female, and they're still waiting to name it.
The foal is still a little shaky, walking around on its long-wobbly legs. It can be seen now in the yard.
Grevy's zebras are considered endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) with a wild population estimated at fewer than 2,000.
