Police Still Searching For Weapons Stolen From Unmarked Police Cars
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Investigators in Adams County are still trying to track down weapons stolen from unmarked police cars.
Two rifles, a pistol and a bullet-proof vest were stolen. The cars were parked in front of the homes of two off-duty Adams County deputies in Aurora.
The thefts occurred between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Police have canvassed the neighborhood and searched the vehicles for fingerprints.
Most police departments don't have rules for their officers about leaving their weapons unattended. They often recommend that the weapon be locked up or locked in a vehicle's trunk.
