Gov. Hickenlooper Files Re-Election Paperwork

DENVER (AP) - Colorado's governor is following through on promises to seek another term. Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper filed paperwork Tuesday to run for governor.

The Democrat was elected in 2010 and has said many times he would run for a second term.

At least three Republicans have said they'll try to challenge Hickenlooper. Secretary of State Scott Gessler, state Sen. Greg Brophy and former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo are all interested in unseating Hickenlooper.

No Democrats are expected to challenge Hickenlooper next year.
