A Hold On Fracking In Fort Collins Can Now Go To The Voters

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A petition drive aimed at putting a hold on hydraulic fracturing in Fort Collins has enough signatures and will go to the voters this fall.

The group Citizens for a Healthy Fort Collins is proposing a 5-year moratorium on fracking within the city limits.

On Monday city officials announced there are enough valid signatures to put the measure on the November ballot. The city council can now adopt the measure later this month or send it to the voters in the fall.

Voters in Broomfield, Loveland and Lafayette are also considering doing the same thing.
