Free State Park Admission Marks Colorado Birthday
DENVER (AP) - Admission to state parks is free Monday in Colorado's annual tradition to marks its anniversary of statehood.
The state's 42 state parks will still charge camping fees, but admission is free on Monday.
It will be a first "free day" for the state's newest park, Staunton State Park near Pine. The park opened in May.
Colorado became a state on Aug. 1, 1876, under President Ulysses S. Grant.
