Aurora Police Arrest Suspect In Shooting Near Payless Shoes
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Aurora have arrested a suspect wanted in a shooting near a Payless Shoes store.
Police said the trouble started just after 1 p.m. at the shoe store at 6th Avenue and Peoria when the man fired a shot through the window of an SUV while trying to rob the owner of the SUV.
The suspect and victim were struggling inside the vehicle when the suspect fired the weapon, shooting out the window. Then the suspect jumped in the driver's seat and took off in the vehicle.
Police caught up to the suspect after he crashed the SUV in the area of E. 7th Avenue and N. Kenton Street. He ran away but they found him a few blocks away hiding in a shed.
No one was injured in the shooting.
Police have not identified the suspect.
