Cabela's Stores In Lone Tree, Thornton Nearly Ready To Open
LONE TREE, Colo. (CBS4) - The wait is nearly over -- outdoor equipment retailer Cabela's is about to open in the Denver metro area.
On Aug. 15 the chain will open locations in Thornton and Lone Tree. It will be the first time Cabela's has opened two stores in the same area on the same day.
CBS4 got a sneak peek inside on Tuesday and found equipment and clothing for camping, fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities.
The store says focusing on sustainability is also incredibly important to them, which is why they have also adopted trails around the Lone Tree store.
"We are big on giving back to our community, so we partnered with Douglas County to adopt a trail right behind out store," Karen Koons with Cabela's said. "We will help maintain that trail with our outfitters … as well as we are recycling all of our plastics hoping to reduce our carbon footprint."
The trails will also be used to help customers demo equipment like snowshoes and backpacking gear.
The Thornton location is located along Interstate 25 at 144th. The Lone Tree Store is just south of Park Meadows Mall.
