Civilians Investigate Soldier On Child Sex Charge

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Civilian police in Colorado Springs are investigating child-sex allegations involving a soldier from nearby Fort Carson, but they don't know if the case is related to a separate Army investigation.

Police spokeswoman Barbara Miller said Thursday no one has been arrested in the civilian investigation. She declined to release any other details.

Fort Carson officials said Wednesday they're investigating several soldiers on allegations of sexual misconduct involving under-age girls.

The officials didn't say how many soldiers were under investigation, where the alleged misconduct took place or how many girls were allegedly involved.

They said no arrests were made.

Fort Carson officials said Thursday they couldn't comment further.

A spokesman for the sheriff of El Paso County, which includes part of Fort Carson, said deputies aren't involved in the investigation.
