DENVER (CBS4) - Investigators are working to determine what sparked a fire at a pet grooming business in Denver Tuesday night that killed two dogs.

One person was hurt in the fire.

Firefighters said two pets died in the fire.

The fire broke out at Bill's Clips and Collars in the 2100 block of South Albion Street.

The person who was hurt was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

"The parties who own those animals are going to be notified by animal control," Denver Fire Department spokesman Tony Berumen told a CBS4 crew at the scene of the fire. "There are a number of cages. I know the business is very popular and they always have quite a few animals inside."

The owner of the business, Bill Vorbeck, said most of the damage was in the back room. He said once electricity is restored to the business they will reopen.

Those who would like to help Vorbeck with donations can visit BillsClipsAndCollars.com, or visit the store at 2100 South Albion Street in Denver. The phone number is (303) 752-9122.
