Man Critical After Shooting In West Denver

DENVER (CBS4) - A man is in critical condition after being shot in West Denver Monday afternoon and officers think the shooter may have stolen multiple vehicles to get away.

The shooting occurred at 14th Avenue and Newton Street. Police said the victim was shot while sitting in a parked car and the suspect stole another vehicle and fled.

Police then responded to 28th Avenue and Irving Street where witnesses said the suspect involved was in a postal carrier truck, got out of it and then hijacked another vehicle.

The area was closed off as police investigated. Officers were seen talking to man who witnesses said was carjacked. He was driving a red, two-door vehicle.

Denver police describe the suspect as being a 6-foot-4, light-skinned black or Hispanic man wearing a blue bandanna, white t-shirt and blue jeans. He was last seen in the area of 46th and Quitman.

Anyone with information is asked to call Denver police.
