CarGo, Tulo & Cuddyer Make All-Star Team
DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Rockies will be well represented on the National League All-Star team.
Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki will be starters, while outfielder Michael Cuddyer was selected as a reserve.
All three have had fantastic years. It's the first time since 2003 that the Rockies have had three players in the All-Star game.
"With being hurt and missing almost a month and still getting the fan vote, it means a lot," Tulowitzki said.
"Last year, you're trying to get your foot in the door with a nice, new place, new organization, new fan base, everything," Cuddyer said. "Team-wise we didn't go as well as we wanted to, and to come back and come back strong, it's extremely gratifying."
"I had a fun experience last year, it was my first time," Gonzalez said. "Of course, every time we have the opportunity we feel blessed and happy to be in the All-Star (game)."
The All-Star game will be played at Citi Field in New York on Tuesday, July 16. The Home Run Derby will be played on Monday.
