Skydiver Lands On Longmont Roof Because Of Winds

LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) — A skydiver was blown off course in Longmont and landed on top of a two-story home. Firefighters helped the 31-year-old man to safety.

The Longmont Times-Call reports that the Friday afternoon landing happened about a mile south of Vance Brand Municipal Airport. A passing driver saw the skydiver land on the roof, and neighbors called for help. The man escaped serious injury but was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Longmont Police Officer David Kennedy said that wind gusts at nearly 22 mph apparently blew the man off course. Police didn't identify the skydiver.
