Fire Ban Issued For Denver Mountain Parks
DENVER (CBS4)- A fire ban was issued for all Denver Mountain Parks on Thursday because of dry conditions and the high potential for danger.
That includes all locations in Jefferson, Clear Creek and Douglas Counties. Most forms of fire, including wood burning or charcoal grills are prohibited at this time.
Grills that use propane gas and are in proper working order are not prohibited and are still allowed.
The following are prohibited:
- Anything which produces an open flame or has the potential to create an uncontrolled fire.
- Building, maintaining, attending to or using any fire to burn anything; this includes campfires or warming fires.
- Use of charcoal, wood or open fire for grilling or cooking.
- Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or private building.
- Operating a chain saw without a USDA or SAE approved spark protector and a chemical arresting device properly installed and in effective working order.
- Welding or operating acetylene or any other type of torch with an open flame.
- Use of any explosive or ignition system that requires a burning fuse line.
- Fireworks of any kind are prohibited in Park Facilities.
The fire ban is temporary and will remain in effect until superseded or rescinded by the Manager of Denver Parks and Recreation.
