Body Found In Clear Creek County Is That Of Missing Lakewood Man

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Lakewood police have confirmed that the body of man found in Clear Creek County is that of David Noren, who has been missing since May 20.

Noren's body was found by hikers along Fall River Road last Friday.

"Detectives with assistance from the Jefferson County Coroner's Office positively identified the body as that of David Noren," Steve Davis with Lakewood police said in a statement.

Davis said the autopsy revealed that Noren, 49, was murdered.

"Early results of the investigation and evidence gathered so far, led detectives to seek and obtain an arrest warrant this afternoon for 34-year-old Ryan Boyd Hicks," Davis said.

Hicks had been Noren's roommate and was recently arrested in Arizona on unrelated charges.

"The warrant for Hicks includes charges of first-degree murder, felony murder, as well as robbery and criminal possession of a financial credit device," Davis said.

Detectives from Lakewood traveled to Arizona to interview Hicks while he was in custody. It's not clear when Hicks will be extradited back to Colorado to be advised of the charges against him.

Noren's employer and friend, Mike Matchinsky, says seeing someone held responsible helps bring closure.

"I hope they throw him away for life, that he never sees the light of day as far as I'm concerned." Matchinsky said. "I hope the justice is swift."
