Denver Man Charged With Receiving Child Porn In Mail

DENVER (CBS4)- A Denver man has been arrested on child pornography charges for allegedly ordering and receiving illegal images through the U.S. Mail.

Clifford Eric Perian, 53, has been charged with one count of receipt of child pornography. He has been held without bond after a judge determined he was a danger to the community.

Investigators said in online postings Perian solicited parents of minor boys or sought minor volunteers to be subjected to various acts of sexual torture and/or abuse.

Postal Inspectors conducted a search of Perian's residence in Denver and found bondage and sexual paraphernalia that Perian boasted about online. They also found DVDs containing child pornography or child erotica.

Computers were also seized from his residence.

Investigators said that Perian ordered videos online and then received them in the U.S. Mail.

"While most child pornography is now distributed and received via the internet, there are still companies that mail these horrible images exploiting children through the U.S. Mail," said U.S. Attorney John Walsh. "The arrest of this defendant is critical because Postal Inspectors and Assistant U.S. Attorneys were able to identify someone who was using the U.S. Mail to sexually exploit children. The defendant in this case received the images in the mail, which is a crime."
