Man Killed, 8 Students Injured After Pickup And School Bus Collide Near Florissant

FLORISSANT, Colo. (CBS4) - The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving a school bus.

The crash happened just outside of Florissant on Highway 24 Sunday morning. A Ford pickup truck and school bus carrying 52 children collided.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Glen Crow, 42, died and eight children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The children have all be released from the hospital.

The children were taking a field trip from their camp at Summit Ministries in Manitou Springs. The camp says the children are shaken but okay.

"As they processed through, they all made a comment of, 'Wow, this could have been so much worse,' " Jeff Myers with Summit Ministries said.

Troopers say the truck crossed into oncoming traffic and hit the bus. They say alcohol may have been a factor. CSP is waiting on toxicology results.
