Witnesses Say SUV Ran Red Light, Caused Bad Crash In Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Lakewood said three vehicles were involved in a crash at West Colfax Avenue and Pierce Street.

Witnesses said an SUV ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, which then rolled over onto another car.

Witness Tania Newman said she helped one driver who was trapped.

"The young lady who was driving the vehicle, she was unconscious in the car, and so I was trying to lay on the ground and hold her head because her head was in between the frame of the vehicle and they ground," Newman said. "They were trying push the car up to keep her head from getting crushed and she was starting to wake up and she was crying and asking for her mother, who was her passenger."

Police said no one was seriously injured.

There is no indication of drugs or alcohol but officers are still investigating the crash.
