BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)– A man has been convicted of first-degree murder for the killing of a woman at a motel last summer.
Michael Earl Smith was convicted on Friday of first-degree murder and sexual assault in the death of Krista Ann Boma at the Valli-Hi Motel at 7320 Pecos St. in Adams County.READ MORE: Dentist's Office Catches Fire In Greenwood Village
Police said Boma, 34, was found severely beaten and strangled to death in a room on July 12, 2012. Smith, 29, strangled Boma with his hands and a belt.

Boma had danced at several Adams County strip clubs under the names “Petra,” “Sophia” and “Loren.”
