Denver Health Holds 'Newborns In Need' Event

DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Health Medical Center threw a baby shower for newborns in need Saturday morning.

The "Newborns In Need" program is designed to help families unable to buy essentials like diapers, wipes, blankets and bottles.

People dropped off donations at the event.

"We're part of a small group at our church and we just got done celebrating our own babies and bellies and wanted to donate to the Newborns In Need because we're fellow mothers and we know how important that is to get these new babies the essentials when they are first born," said Laura Hartgerink, who donated supplies.

Volunteers sorted the baby stuff into welcome packages. They will be delivered to babies born at Denver Health.
