2 Fort Carson-Based Soldiers Die In Kuwait

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) — Military officials say two soldiers based at Fort Carson in Colorado have died of injuries from a vehicle accident in Kuwait.

The Department of Defense said Friday that 25-year-old Spc. Trinidad Santiago Jr., of San Diego, and 21-year-old Pfc. Charles P. McClure, of Stratford, Okla., died Thursday in Camp Buehring, Kuwait.

They were assigned to the 4th Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson.

Fort Carson officials say Santiago joined the Army on Oct. 13, 2009, while McClure joined the Army on Nov. 1, 2011. Santiago had previously deployed to Afghanistan.
