Prosecutors Review Shooting At Deputy DA's Home

GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) - Prosecutors are reviewing whether any charges should be filed in the fatal shooting of a man outside the home of a Colorado sheriff's lieutenant and a chief deputy district attorney.

The shooting in Hot Sulphur Springs killed Joshua Lee Stevens of Coral, Mich.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has said it appears Stevens pounded on the door at the home of Deputy District Attorney Heather Stein of the 14th Judicial District and Grand County sheriff's Lt. John Stein late April 1, and shots were fired after Stevens allegedly tried to force his way in.

Investigators say the Steins didn't know Stevens. He had been in town for about a week seeking work.

The office of First Judicial District Attorney Pete Weir said Monday it is reviewing the CBI's findings.
