Man Arrested After Occupied Police Car Sideswiped
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — Grand Junction police have arrested a man believed to be the driver of a car that sideswiped a police car being driven by an officer carrying a prisoner.
Police say Karl Carothers of Grand Junction is facing charges of assault, vehicular eluding, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
A witness told police the driver of the car may have hit the police cruiser deliberately.
Police said Thursday a tip led them to the car and Carothers was identified as a suspect.
