Heavy Snow Causes Roof Collapse In Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4)- Three days of heavy, wet snow are being blamed for causing a roof collapse at a Discount Tire store in Fort Collins.

Employees showed up to work on Thursday morning to find the roof had collapsed. The portion that caved in was above the garage bays. No vehicles were parked inside when the roof collapsed.

Fire crews were called to the store to assess the damage.

The store manager said the building has been deemed unsafe. The store owners have not decided if they will repair the damage or if the building will be a complete loss.

Yellow tape surrounds the store at 1751 S. College Ave.

The storm dropped more than 20 inches of snow in the Fort Collins area in three days.
