Colorado Issues Boil Advisory For San Acacio

PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - State officials are telling residents of tiny San Acacio to boil their water before cooking, drinking, bathing or brushing their teeth with it.

The San Acacio Domestic Water Association reported a burst pipe Friday. Service was restored Monday after repairs were made, but the state Water Quality Control Division issued an advisory for residents to boil water until tests confirm there's no contamination.

Flushing and testing the water system could take a couple of days.

Walmart, Rio Grande Hospital, Monte Vista Coop and Memorial Hospital have made donations to provide residents with bottled water and hand sanitizer.

San Acacio uses a chlorinated system.
