Police Say DNA Helped Solve Car Accident Case

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - The Grand Junction Police Department says DNA helped them arrest a suspect in a fatal car crash.

Jason Shriver of Grand Junction is facing charges of vehicular homicide and DUI.

Police said Friday Shriver is believed to be responsible for the death of Shannon Gallegos.

Police say the DNA evidence collected at the scene of the accident on Jan. 19 helped them get an arrest warrant for Shriver.
