I-70 Detour At Floyd Hill Thursday Night
CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- Interstate 70 will be closed at Floyd Hill on Thursday night while crews reinstall a power line.
The Colorado Department of Transportation will close I-70 at Floyd Hill to traffic in both directions between Beaver Brook at the top of Floyd Hill and U.S. 6 at the bottom.
Xcel Energy crews will be reintalling a high-voltage power line across the highway. A truck accident last week brought down the line.
Westbound traffic will detour off I-70 at the Beaver Brook exit and use U.S. 40 to to the bottom of Floyd Hill.
Eastbound traffic will exit I-70 at U.S. 6 and travel up Floyd Hill via U.S. 40 or continue east on Highway 6 to Golden.
I-70 is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 a.m. Friday although crews got a late start on Thursday night so the work could go a little longer than expected.
