Colorado Springs Authorities Accuse Man Of Police Impersonation

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado Springs police say they have arrested a man on suspicion of police impersonation after he jumped out of a car and tried to force his way into a vehicle at a drive-in restaurant.

Police say the driver of another vehicle was blocked by a car leaving the restaurant drive-through early Tuesday and a man jumped out and identified himself as an undercover police officer. The man then opened a car door and began questioning the victim.

When the victim asked for identification, the man left.

Police say Travis McClendon has been arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer. The driver, identified as David Phillips, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and related traffic violations.
