Body Found At Grand Canyon Is Missing Englewood Woman

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) - The body of a woman recovered from the Colorado River at the Grand Canyon is that of a missing Colorado woman.

Kaitlin Kenney of Englewood last was seen alive on Jan. 11 at a river camp near Tapeats Creek on the north side of the river. Despite an extensive search on land and along the river, park rangers found no sign of her.

Her body was found last month, about 30 river miles from where she was reporting missing. Park officials released her identity Monday.

The river trip was Kenney's first at the Grand Canyon. Her mother, Linnea Kenney, has said she believes her daughter fell into the river at nighttime, possibly trying to use the restroom.
