Toddler Struck By Truck In Parking Lot Dies

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Brighton are investigating a deadly accident where a child was struck and killed in a shopping complex parking lot.

The accident happened just after 4 p.m. Friday. Police and firefighters rushed to the complex at 2269 Prairie Center Parkway in Brighton where they found a boy between the ages of two and three had been struck in front of the Dick's Sporting Goods store.

The child did not survive.

The driver of the truck stayed at the scene. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol was involved.

The parking lot was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident. Investigators have not confirmed if any charges are pending.
