1 Seriously Injured In Chain-Reaction Crashes Near Monument

MONUMENT, Colo. (CBS4) - A crash that seriously injured a person caused a chain reaction of crashes that involved approximately 15 vehicles near Monument.

The crashes occurred on southbound Interstate 25 near Baptist Road Saturday evening. The initial crash involved a sedan that crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer at approximately 5:25 p.m.

Some vehicles collided into each other, while others slid off the highway trying to avoid the wreck.

The highway had to be closed for the investigation. It reopened at approximately 7:15 p.m. Saturday.
