Air Force Academy Cadet Convicted On 2 Charges

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) — An Air Force Academy cadet has been sentenced to eight months of confinement after being convicted of attempted sodomy and wrongful sexual contact.

The academy says Cadet 2nd Class Anthony D. Daniels Jr. also was sentenced Friday to dismissal from the Air Force after his convictions at a general court-martial.

Daniels had been accused of trying to force a female Air Force Academy Preparatory School student's head onto his groin in 2009 and of forcing another woman to perform oral sex in 2011.

A panel of five officers convicted him Thursday as charged of attempted sodomy in the 2009 case. He was acquitted of aggravated sexual contact and forcible sodomy in the 2011 case but was convicted of the lesser charge of wrongful sexual contact.
