Puppy Recovering After Being Shot With A Crossbow

DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4) - A 3 month old puppy is recovering from surgery after being shot with a crossbow.

The humane society in Durango is now caring for the Jack Russell/Shepherd mix they've named Bow. He was shot in Farmington, N.M., and vets there removed the arrow from his leg.

"Once I heard about Bow I knew it'd be an easy adoption and we also want to help out the Farmington Shelter as much as we can since they're always full," said LPCHS Director of Animal Services Chris Nelson in a prepared statement.

Officials at the La Plata County Humane Society said they will find a new home for Bow.

Police said they have no leads in the case.
