BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. (AP) — A Buckley Air Force Base office that manages personnel issues for almost 1 million Air National Guard and reserve members and Air Force retirees has a new commander.

Brig. Gen. John C. Flournoy Jr. took over the Air Reserve Personnel Center on Jan. 25.

He replaces Col. Patricia S. Blassie.

The center keeps personnel records, manages promotion systems and oversees discharge and retirement processes.

It has more than 600 staff members, including military and civilian employees and contractors.

Buckley is in the Denver suburb of Aurora. It has about 12,000 personnel, including civilians, contractors and members of the National Guard and reservists working with multiple units.
