Fire Leaves Thornton Home Uninhabitable

THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4) - Firefighters in Thornton said a house that caught fire Sunday morning is now uninhabitable, but not a total loss.

Fire crews arrived at the home after getting a call at 8:25 a.m. to find heavy smoke inside. The fire started in the basement.

Neighbor Doug Frank said the smoke was a major concern.

"We saw smoke coming out of the eave of the garage and also the venting on the roof," Frank said. "We knew as soon as we saw it that there was a fire inside."

No one was inside the home. The cause is under investigation.
