Teen From Johnstown Who Went Missing Found Safe

JOHNSTOWN, Colo. (CBS4) - The police chief in Johnstown said Thursday morning that a 16-year-old girl who went missing was found safe and unharmed at a nearby home.

Police said at approximately 8 a.m. they got a call from someone who said they knew Dave. That name was familiar, since the girl had posted on Facebook that she was with a man named Dave and she felt scared and wanted someone to call police.

When officials received that tip that the girl may have been with someone named Dave they followed that tip into Johnstown and found her safe and unharmed in a home about a half mile from police headquarters.

Police said they will now question the girl to find out what has happened to her within the past 36 hours. She had last been seen at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday, and police got multiple tips after news of her situation went out.

"Right now we're going to have to interview Jessica to find out what happened with her being missing and once we get that information from her and find out what she had been doing and who she was with then we can look at whether there's a criminal investigation that accompanies this," Chief Brian Phillips said.
