Man Accused Of Placing Camera In Basalt City Market Ladies Room
BASALT, Colo. (CBS4) - A man who works at the City Market in Basalt on the Western Slope is accused of hiding a camera in the women's bathroom.
Police say Louis Garcia Turbin, 29, of Blue Lake in El Jebel, allegedly installed the camera to spy on his girlfriend. He was arrested on Friday.
The camera, shaped like a standard electrical outlet, was placed on the wall of a handicapped-toilet stall of the bathroom.
"It was obvious it wasn't supposed to be there," Basalt Police Sgt. Penny Paxton said of the video camera. It looked like an outlet, she said, except there was a hole between the plug-ins.
Turbin told police he thought his girlfriend was going to the bathroom to call another man. He faces charges of stalking and invasion of privacy.
