Visa To Add Jobs, Expand Presence In Colorado

DENVER (AP) - Gov. John Hickenlooper says Visa Inc. plans to expand its Global Technology Center in Douglas County, creating hundreds of new jobs.

The Denver Post reports Visa could receive nearly $5.7 million under Colorado's job growth incentive tax credit for creating up to 406 new, high-paying IT, financial, and client support jobs over the next five years.

Visa anticipates leasing 66,000 square feet of new space and making a $9 million capital investment to accommodate the new hires.

The company reported it had about 8,500 employees worldwide as of September. State officials say that includes 700 people in Colorado.
