Police Search For 2 Men Who Ran Into Liquor Store With Shotguns

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Colorado Springs are searching for two men who stormed a liquor store armed with shotguns.

Surveillance cameras captured the incident Saturday morning at Academy Liquors, located at 1210 North Academy Boulevard.

The owner had just unlocked the doors when she saw the men jump out of their car and quickly locked herself in a back office.

"She locked herself in the back room because this has happened before so she has a metal door, and it protected her today," said Richard Caldwell, her son.

The two men left with a getway driver after thinking no one was inside to rob.

Investigators say the men were wearing bulletproof vests under their sweatshirts.

The car was described as being a dark colored Toyota Camry with black rims, tinted windows and with a rear spoiler.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers (719) 634-STOP.
