Water Delay Allows Salvage Yard Fire To Burn For Hours

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- A fire burned at a scrap metal salvage yard in Greeley for hours after there was a delay getting water to the fire.

The fire at Anderson Sales and Salvage broke out early Thursday morning.

Greeley Firefighters had to shuttle water to the facility to put out the blaze.

It took fire crews three hours to extinguish the fire.

Although the fire was large and burned for hours, the salvage yard said it didn't cause much damage because everything that burned was still able to be recycled.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
