Arvada Police Ask For Help Finding Accused Child Molester

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Arvada are searching for an accused child molester and are asking for the public's help.

Jason McDavitt has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

McDavitt, 36, had moved from Colorado and was living in Long Beach, Cali. when charges were filed in 2011.

The Long Beach Police Department, working in conjunction with Arvada Police, apprehended McDavitt. He was then extradited to Jefferson County jail.

McDavitt failed to appear at his trial on Monday and a warrant was issued for his arrest. McDavitt also has a restraining order in place where he is to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.

McDavitt is described as a White/Hispanic man, 5-foot-9, with black hair and brown eyes. He has numerous tattoos, including one of Bob Marley on his right forearm. He is known to have family in California, Ohio, Washington and New York.
