Hickenlooper Sends Letter To Justice Department On Amendment 64
DENVER (CBS4) - Gov. John Hickenlooper is again asking the U.S Justice Department to weigh in on how the state should implement Amendment 64.
Hickenlooper sent a letter this week to Attorney General Eric Holder. The governor says Colorado needs to know as soon as possible how the Justice Department will respond to last week's marijuana vote.
The governor also spoke to Holder briefly about the issue in a conference call last week.
So far Washington has only said federal law making the drug illegal still stands and the measure is under review.
